A group discussion

Dear group members,
There are two topics mentioned in class last week which we may discuss here.
1.When giving a presentation to the class, we find several problems of our blog. I have written them as follows and we can have a discussion about how to better solve the problems to make our blog easily read and understood by others.
A.It seems that more links and references should be added to our blog, which will enable us to share our opinions with each other and take part in the discussion of other groups.
B.The advantage of the structure now is we can quickly find each group activiy on our blog and it is clear that who makes the contribution to the activity. However, one problem is it is not easy for us to reply to each other. So we may find out a solution about this problem.
C.We had better change all the words into English in order that our professor and classmates can read it easily.

2.As students coming from mainland China, we admit the truth that most of the education process is paper-based for the simple reason that when taking exams, students write their answers on paper. Then Professor Fox put forwards a question that why we come here in this situation. Although we have stated our purpose in several occasions, such as the course of Mite 6023, 6024 and 6328, as well as our blogs and forum, it is necessary for us to rethink about the question, which is significantly important during the our study here in HKU. Therefore, all the members in our group, as well as other students from different places are welcomed to state their opinions here.

  1. At first, I agree with Jacqueline's opinions.

Our original design is to keep the Blog clear and simple. Keeping the webpage simple is easy to read and find our articles. However, after the presentation, we think we need to add some links and references. One technical problem we need to tackle is how to change the Chinese version to English. We are trying and we hope we can handle it.

You know, Chinese education system is so strange. The whole education system is paper-oriented. If you want to get a high score, you need to do many papers. If you want to enter a good university, you must get a good score in the National Entry Examination. The worst and most strange thing is that if you want to get a Computer certification, you must past the paper and then do the test on computer. Do you think is it so funny? The teacher would tell you that you must master the theoretical knowledge, and then you can do better on the computer. Therefore, students need to do paper which could exam whether your have understand these theories. In fact, if the students have mastered those theories, the teachers can get from the computer skills rather than papers. Overall, the Chinese education system is so rigid, unimaginative. I think that is why I choose HKU to continue my study.
